The mission of Sylhet Women’s Medical College & Hospital ( SWMCH) is to provide high –quality, Medical education to all students and to be the primary teaching hospital in sylhet. Our goals include offering training opportunities to nurses and allied health professionals, as well as to provide the setting for ongoing clinical research that helps bring medical advances from the laboratory to the patients beside. Sylhet Women’s Medical College and hospital is a state of the art teaching and medical facility with a unique architectural design throughout its 3 high rise buildings built on 130000 square feet of land in the heart of sylhet city.
Relaying on the kill and expertise of approximately 250 college based and community physicians, Sylhet Women’s Medical College and Hospital ( SWMCH) provides comprehensive multidisciplinary, family-focused care in more than 100 medical specialty areas. Presently, we treat approximately at 22000 patients in emergency department and 25000 discharges from Sylhet Women’s Medical College annually. At Sylhet Women’s Medical College and hospital ( SWMCH) we have students, physicians, supporting our medical staff by providing around the clock coverage and insightful patient care.
The library’s mission is to acquire, organize and facilitate access to knowledge base biomedical information resources that enable Sylhet Women’s Medical College students, faculty, Physicians and other health care providers to advance their education, research, or patient care activities at the Sylhet Women’s Medical College.
SWMCH library is fully air contained. It is enriched with a good collection of the most up to date editions of books to meet the needs of the students and teachers. It is a gigantic collection that includes text books, reference books, and medical journal of varied disciplines as well as access to internet resources.
COLLEGE ACCOMMODATION
The college consists of a number of modern multistoried building in its own picturesque campus which accommodates all the departments required for the MBBS course. There are sufficient amenities for lectures, tutorial and practical classes of the varied subjects. In symposiums as well as other activities.

HOSTEL:
Students of the hostel must reside in their allotted seats at the hostel. The Hostel is situated within the campus. Hostels have the facilities such as dining room, common room with arrangements for games, TV etc.
CLEANLINESS :
Students are asked to maintain proper cleanliness of their rooms. Waste materials from rooms are to be kept in wastebasket / plastic bin in each floor. It is expected that every student will be well disciplined and behave properly both in hostel and in the campus and must not be involved in anything unbecoming and unwanted.
The college authority will bear no responsibility for any activity or traveling outside the campus by the students. The college authority will provide accommodation for a student during the 5 year MBBS course.
COURSE AND DEPARTMENTS:
Sylhet Women’s Medical College offer 5 years MBBS course approved by BM & DC leading to MBBS degree of the Sylhet Medical university. The college has been permitted by the Ministry of health and family welfare, Govt. of the people’s republic of Bangladesh and affilited with Sylhet medical university.

4 professional examinations during the MBBS Courses
2 terms final examinationss in one year on first week of januray & on first week of july.
card final examination on completion of each card
Item examniation on completion of each topic through lectures and tutorials classes.
Student must attend at least 75% of classes and appear in each form of examnition with successful result
